Gillian Anderson's Biography
Shortly after her birth (when she was 2), her parents decided to move to England (London). When Gillian turned 11, her family moved back to the United States (Grand Rapids, Michigan). There Gillian began to study acting at DePaul University and after she graduated from High School (1986), Gillian moved to New York, where she studied with the National Theatre of Great Britain at Cornell University. There she played the leading role in a play called "Absent Friends". For that performance Gillian received a "Theater World Award" (1991). After that she moved to Los Angeles and played a guest-role in the TV series "Class of '96". Then, in 1993, Gillian made audition for a new series called "The X-Files". There she met assistant art director Clyde Klotz. They got married on New Year's Day (1994), on a golf course on Hawaii. A few months later Gillian found out that she was pregnant. At first she thought that this would be the end of her career on "The X-Files" but she was wrong. Chris Carter and the great team of writers managed to keep Gillian's pregnancy out of the show completely! So after giving birth to Piper Maru in September 1994, Gillian returned to the show and none noticed that she had become a mother! To thank Chris Carter for his help, Gillian chose him to be Piper's godfather. Gillian and Clyde were divorced during early 1997 and now live separate. Gillian Anderson was voted "Most Likely to be Arrested" by her classmates in high school, and was in fact arrested on graduation night for trying to glue the locks shut at her high school. And also she was voted "Class Clown" and "Most Bizarre Girl" in high school. In 1997 she had been chosen by "People" magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
